NEW BUS SHELTERS INSTALLED

New bus shelters have been installed along the Hyndburn Circular route as part of the Pennine Reach scheme which will see improvements to the public transport system over the next two years.

Lancashire County Council is driving the £40million scheme which will culminate in new bus stations at Blackburn and Accrington, plus see a new pedestrianised crossing at Eachill Junction by 2016 at the latest. The scheme has suffered several delays but has now been started in earnest and has been welcomed as the crossing has been requested in Rishton for many years.
