ENFORCEMENT NOTICES HANDED OUT

Ten S46 notices have been served recently in the Burton Street and Danvers Street areas for illegal dumping of waste.

A Council spokesman said, "A Section 46 is a legal notice which is served on a resident for placing out unauthorised refuse bags. If the resident then re-offends within six months we will issue a fixed penalty notice. If they go out of the six months period we start the process again."
