BROKEN DOWNSPOUT AT YORK MILL

A rainwater pipe on the remaining section of York Mill is causing problems for residents during wet weather as the end of the downspout is not connected and water pours down onto the street from a height of around ten feet.

Residents have complained that since the demolition of the majority of the mill the pipe has merely been left open at one end which means that the noise of running water during wet weather keeps people awake at night, particularly during summer when bedroom windows are sometimes left open.

The Rishton Councillors have requested that the owners of the building effect repairs as soon as possible.
