HARRY GRAYSON SAYS 'PLEASE VOTE FOR JEFF'

The Rishton Councillors try for the most part to be as non-political as possible but we are making the annual plea to residents for them to vote Labour in the local elections.

We have a good team in Rishton and we work well together. Three of the six Hyndburn Cabinet members are representatives for Rishton, plus Miles Parkinson is not only our Labour County Councillor but also Leader of Hyndburn Borough Council.

We don't refer to ourselves as 'Team Rishton' for nothing!

Losing Harry Grayson is very sad for us but Jeff Scales has worked with us on numerous projects stretching all the way back to asking for revisions to the planning application at Westwood Garage. His current major project is the Piggy Park Garden Association for which he has secured grants totalling nearly £20,000 and this will be of major benefit to the schools and youth associations.

Harry said, "We haven't made wild promises to residents and we have always been realistic about what can and can't be done but we always look for the best solutions to problems. We are open about what is happening and we post daily updates of our activities, something none of our opponents do anywhere else in the borough. The last thing we need in Rishton is more political battles. Please vote for Jeff Scales tomorrow and keep your three Rishton Councillors as a united team."

Polling stations open tomorrow at St Charles Church, Rishton Free Gardeners Club and St Peter & St Paul's Church from 7.00am until 10.00pm and you do not need your polling card to vote.
