RISHTON CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON 2016

The Rishton Christmas lights will be switched on at the Library at 4.00pm on Saturday 3rd December this year. Mayor of Hyndburn, Cllr Tim O'Kane will be in attendance to welcome ex-professional footballer Brett Ormerod who will officially switch on the lights. Members of the local clergy will also bless the crib at the same time.

The Switch On Rishton group have also organised a Christmas fair which will take place immediately afterwards on the Library car park.

Cllr Ken Moss said, "We have a superb local group of volunteers who have demonstrated that residents don't need the Council to organise something genuinely exciting. The Rishton Councillors have upgraded the junction box at the tree so that we can have the switch on and the market on the Saturday night without the need for HBC staff support. Everyone is looking forward to this."

Switch On Rishton have their own Facebook page which can be viewed here.
