Cllr Jeff Scales has made a successful application to the Tesco Bags of Help Grant Scheme as part of the Rishton Festival Committee and it will be put forward to a customer vote in Tesco stores during March and April 2018.
Rishton Festival, along with the other two successful projects in the region, will go forward to a vote in Tesco stores where customers will decide the outcome by voting for their favourite project each time they shop.
The project with the highest number of votes across the region will receive £4,000 (or the amount that was requested up to this value), the second placed project £2,000 (or the amount that was requested up to this value), and the third placed project £1,000.
To vote, you will need to make a purchase within store of any value. You will receive one token per transaction and it's not necessary to purchase a carrier bag in order to receive a token.
Voting will take place at the Great Harwood and Colne stores from Thursday 1st March to Monday 30th April 2018 and the Rishton Councillors will be notified at the end of May 2018 confirming the amount of funding the committee will receive.
